"Our New Font Collection now includes 67 new typefaces from the
young innovators and old hands in contemporary typeface design,"
said Jim Lyles, Director of Typographic Development at Bitstream.
"We are excited to add three new designers to our NFC family. Russian
designer Oleg Karpinsky provides an elegant, condensed family of
six typefaces, Chervonec Uzkj. Neal Rousseau gives us a witty and
inventive design that will always make your documents look like
there is a Toner Crisis. UK designer Thomas Oldfield has created
Reaper, not a dark and grim face but a refined display font. We
are also pleased to welcome back Brian Bonislawsky, the master of
the extended font design, whose family of four EuroMachina fonts
will jump start anyone's publication. The NFC continues to thrive
on the inspired works of these and like-minded designers."
About the Designers
Brian Bonislawsky is a graduate from Rhode Island School of Design.
Before graduating with a BFA & Certificate in Illustration,
he had studied hand cut lettering, dimensional letter construction,
working with hot type, and type on the computer. In the years since
his graduation, Bonislawsky has established Astigmatic One Eye Foundry
( www.astigmatic.com), an online typeface and graphic design business.
The EuroMachina family, along with previously released Big Limbo,
Cavalero, Islander, Stingwire and Tannarin, represent an ever-growing
collection of Bonislawsky type designs, with many more to come.
Oleg Karpinsky was born in 1954, in the Magadan region in far eastern
Russia. Since his graduation from the Moscow Higher School of Design
in 1980, Mr. Karpinsky has worked as a graphic designer. In 1993,

typefaces including, PT Ariergard, PT Dublon, PT Dublon Brus and
PT Gvardia. In his down time, Mr. Karpinsky enjoys painting, literature

family with Bitstream. Look for his typeface Irakly to be released
in 2003.
Born in Yorkshire, UK, Tom Oldfield is a self-taught typeface designer.
Making fonts since 1996, when he got his first Macintosh, Tom has
developed a typeface library of 40+ designs. In areas of expertise
and interest, Tom lists his skills as illustrator, animator, cartoonist

Framingham State College with a BA in Graphic Arts and Media Communication.
Working as a graphic designer, Neal's projects include mostly corporate
design, including product literature, brochures, logos and the like.

About the New Font Collection (NFC)
Bitstream announced the New Font Collection (NFC) program in August
of 2000. The current Bitstream Typeface Library has been a mainstay
of the graphic design community for 20 years. Bitstream felt the
time had come to begin a new collection of typefaces, not only to
add fonts to the library but, more importantly, to seek out designs
from both new and established designers. To that end, Bitstream
established the New Font Collection program.
