Bitstream Releases New BTN Library
of 500 Exclusive Developer Fonts
Leading font technology company delivers
new designs that "break the norm"
CAMBRIDGE, MA September 15, 2003
Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ:
BITS) announced today the release of 500 exclusive, fun, and edgy
designs from its new BTN ("Breaking the Norm") typeface library. The
mix includes text families and pi fonts, and a wide variety of display,
headline, and handwriting fonts, including:
- Display and headline fonts: Apple Boy, Cinema
Gothic, Combat, Dark Half, Exotic Island, Nightclub, Platinum
Beat
- Extended font families: Air Flow, Backtalk,
Big Chump, Calamity Teen, Candy, Java Kick, Pie Contest
- Handwriting and casual fonts: Annie, Aundee,
Galeforce, Heather, Holiday Springs, Ocalla Hand
- Pi and symbol fonts: Carver Jack, Heart Breaker,
Li'l Tipsy, Retro Starstruck
The BTN fonts work well in software applications
(particularly game software and graphics/presentation applications),
Web applications, and printers - anywhere customers use templates
to tailor the look and feel of posters, greeting cards, scrapbooks,
CD labels, T-shirts, coffee mugs, digital videos, and photos.
The fonts are available in OpenType, TrueType,
and PostScript Type 1 formats for both Window and the Macintosh.
"Today's developers are looking for innovation
in animation and graphics. They want new seldom-seen designs for
their applications. The right typeface can make all the difference,"
said Jim Lyles, Director of Typographic Development at Bitstream.
"Our new BTN library of 500 exclusive Developer Fonts is the latest
creation from two highly original typeface designers, Brian Bonislawsky
and Stuart Sandler. The BTN library includes handwriting, gaming,
display, and symbol fonts, and extended families of headline and
text faces. These new typefaces provide an eclectic mix of fun,
edgy, and funky designs, 'breaking the norm' from ordinary fonts."
