Four51 Exceeds One Million Variable
Data Jobs with Pageflex Software Milestone
showcases scalability of Pageflex Mpower
CAMBRIDGE, MA — September 27, 2004 — Pageflex ( NASDAQ:
BITS , www.pageflex.com),
the leading provider of Web-to-print technology, and Four51, an e-commerce
services provider for corporate purchasing of indirect goods, today
announced that over one million variable data jobs have now been rendered
on the Four51 network, utilizing Pageflex
Mpower servers.
Four51
enables its subscribers to set up private supply chain networks
that streamline the purchasing and sourcing of products. Once enabled,
buyers can configure and order the products made available to them
in custom catalogs and product orders can be routed to a private
network of suppliers. In many cases these products require some
input or customization by the buyer. For this, Four51 relies on
Pageflex Mpower and further utilizes Pageflex Studio for the creation
of variable data products. According to John Wangaard, Four51’s
CTO, “Pageflex Mpower is a core component of our service.
It has to scale for us. Obviously, it has proven that it can with
over 1,000,000 jobs produced.”
“The Four51 business model, emphasizing automated workflows
for customized products, is a perfect match for Mpower, Pageflex’s
software for personalization, sophisticated customization, long
document composition, and variable-length document publishing driven
by a database or online web-form input,” commented Anna Chagnon,
Pageflex CEO. “Four51’s success with their network is
truly notable for both of us as it has positively shown that software
servers can be scaled to support over 1,000,000 variable data jobs.
We congratulate Four51 on their achievement.”
