Pageflex Announces Powerful New Software for Coordinated Print, Email and Web Direct Marketing Mpower 4.5 Released, Featuring HTML Output Capabilities for Personalized Email and Web Microsites
Chicago, IL — October 11, 2004 — Pageflex ( NASDAQ:
BITS , www.pageflex.com),
the leading provider of Web-to-print technology, today announced at
Graph Expo the release of Mpower
4.5, featuring integrated HTML output capabilities for personalized
email campaigns and personalized Web microsites. The fact that you
can utilize one set of variable definitions for print, email, and
microsites, makes this feature set especially powerful for coordinated
print, email and Web direct marketing and cross-media publishing.
Mpower 4.5 features that support HTML output include drag-and-drop
application of variables to HTML page layouts, page preview of personalized
HTML pages, HTML-specific variable types (for variable content such
as links), and the ability to submit HTML output jobs to the Mpower
server for processing.
To support the easy re-purposing of variable content from print
templates to HTML templates for either personalized email or personalized
Web microsites, Mpower 4.5 includes automatic translation of images
into GIF or JPEG formats, insertion of text into HTML, and conversion
of formatted text. All of this conversion is handled behind the
scenes to ensure appropriate formats are utilized, without the end
user creating templates and setting jobs having to be concerned.
When processing an HTML output job for email, Mpower server generates
and sends the personalized emails. Personalized microsites can either
be generated in batch mode, or on demand (e.g., when a user hits
the personalized URL).
“Pageflex has long been known for flexible, sophisticated
designs in the variable data print arena,” commented Anna
Chagnon, Pageflex CEO. “The addition of HTML output functionality
in Mpower 4.5 extends these capabilities, enabling direct marketers
to integrate their print, email, and Web marketing campaigns as
never before.”
Also new in Mpower 4.5 are numerous features for support of on-the-fly
page resizing and image scaling. These features extend the flexibility
of Pageflex templates, enhancing the ability to utilize single templates
for applications such as display ads, where page space dimensions
vary and content must reflow and re-position in a manner that retains
design integrity as much as possible. For page resizing, users can
now specify scale factors (for both height and width) of pages for
PDF and PostScript output jobs. For image scaling, users can now
choose among image fit modes, enabling them to specify that images
scale relative to the size of the page, or within a maximum fixed
boundary.
“Web-to-print and online document customization capabilities
are a key strength of Pageflex technology,” added Chagnon.
“These additional capabilities in Mpower 4.5 will enable our
customers to create even more flexible templates for their multi-channel
marketing portals for everything from point-of-purchase materials,
collateral and signage to display ads and personalized direct marketing.“
Mpower 4.5 is being demonstrated in the Pageflex booth on the Graph
Expo show floor (Booth #5468), and will be shipping beginning
Monday, October 18th.
