Bitstream to Present at New York Society of Security Analysts
2009 Microcap Technology Innovators Conference

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – June 9, 2009 – Bitstream Inc., (NASDAQ: BITS, www.bitstream.com), a leading software development company with core competencies in browsing, font and publishing technologies, announced today that Bitstream President and CEO, Anna Chagnon, will present at NYSSA's 2009 Microcap Technology Innovators Conference. Ms. Chagnon will present Bitstream as a compelling investment opportunity to conference attendees at the New York Society of Security Analysts Conference Center in New York City on June 25, 2009.

Now in its second decade as a publicly traded company, Bitstream brings together three compelling product lines, including fonts and font rendering, software for personalized marketing, and its latest mobile browsing technology that enables innovation across the mobile landscape.

“Bitstream is a dynamic company, growing its product line, its technology and its customer base,” said Anna Chagnon, President and CEO of Bitstream, Inc. “The NYSSA conference represents an excellent opportunity for us to share the story of Bitstream, discuss the recent success of our new BOLT™ mobile browser, and highlight Bitstream’s potential to the investment community.”

Bitstream was founded as the world’s first digital type foundry in 1981. Since then, the company has expanded its offerings to include a range of award- winning technologies that serve a variety of markets.

The company built on its font expertise to develop new and innovative technologies that expanded the ways in which fonts could be used in various systems. Bitstream’s fonts and font technology can be embedded into practically any hardware device or software application to provide a better user experience. Bitstream’s font technologies can be found in a range of products, including: mobile phones and devices, wireless internet devices, set-top boxes, operating systems, HDTVs, printers, software and Web applications, personal digital assistants, embedded systems and information appliances.

Bitstream’s font expertise also led to the creation of MyFontsSM, the largest collection of fonts available for sale on the Internet. At MyFonts, users can choose from over 62,000 fonts from 500 font foundries around the world. To date, over five million fonts have been downloaded from the MyFonts site.

In addition to fonts and font technology, Bitstream also developed Pageflex®, a family of products that enables marketing service providers and corporate marketing departments to create sophisticated personalized communications based on customer information. Since its introduction in 1998, the Pageflex offerings have expanded to include tools to create powerful multi-channel marketing campaigns and robust Web-to-print document customization solutions. Using Pageflex technologies, marketers around the world are creating finely targeted campaigns and achieving a better return on their marketing investment.

Bitstream’s latest product, the BOLTTM Web browser for mobile phones of all types, debuted earlier this year with strong praise from industry influencers and garnered positive reviews from leading mobile, telecom and Internet publications. Available for free and able to run on approximately 3 billion mobile phones, the BOLT browser is being called one of the “must have downloads” for mobile phone users worldwide. With hundreds of thousands of active users visiting tens of millions of web pages since its February 2009 launch, Bitstream’s BOLT Browser is being hailed as the strongest new contender among leading mobile browsing technologies.
