BITS), announced today more than 1 million registered users now buy fonts at the MyFonts.com website. At MyFonts.com users find, try and buy fonts from one of the largest online selection of fonts online – over 62,000 fonts from more than 500 foundries around the world.
This significant milestone comes after a robust period of innovation for MyFonts. Last spring the company released the WhatTheFont SM iPhone application. WhatTheFont uses the iPhone’s built-in camera to photograph text used on magazines, posters, billboards, menus or any other place people encounter interesting fonts. Once the text is photographed, it is sent to the WhatTheFont online service which quickly returns a list of possible matching fonts. Since it was first posted to Apple’s App Store, WhatTheFont has been downloaded over 150,000 times, giving a new group of users the power to identify, find, and buy the fonts they need – all from their iPhone.
