C-DAC and Bitstream Partner To Bring Indian Language Fonts to Developers
Well-established Indian government institution establishes long-term relationship with Bitstream
PUNE, INDIA and CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A. — June 22,

BITS) and C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing),
GIST, Pune, India, today announced an agreement to bring a wide variety
of classic and contemporary Indian language fonts to developers licensing
Bitstream Font
Fusion®, Bitstream’s premier font rendering technology,
and Bitstream
Panorama, a global text composition engine.
C-DAC was established in March 1988 as a Scientific Society of
the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications
and Information Technology, Government of India. C-DAC is primarily
an R & D institution involved in the design, development and
deployment of advanced information technology based solutions. C-DAC
is a well-established organization with eleven offices in India.
GIST Group is well-known for its work in Indian languages. GIST
has become synonymous with the standards for Indian language applications
in IT.
