General Info

Developed in PRC based on Traditional Chinese to make
reading and writing easier to learn. Simplified in terms of
character set (consists of fewer than 7,000 characters)
and character shape (composed of fewer strokes).

Used in PRC and Singapore.

Character Set

GB2312-80
Level 1 - 3755 hanzi arranged by reading
Level 2 - 3008 hanzi arranged by radical then
total # of (remaining) strokes.

Windows TrueType

Compatible with Microsoft Windows 95 (PRC)
GB2312 - 80 character set
GB2312 - 80 encoding only

Macintosh TrueType

Compatible with ChineseTalk (CH) version
Simplified Chinese character set (based on GB2312 - 80)

PostScript Type1

Compatible with PostScript interpreter 2015 and above.
Adobe-GB1-0 character set (based on GB2312 - 80)

Need CSL (CID Support Library) for PostScript interpreter
2011 and above. Bitstream currently does not provide
installer/downloader to install CSL
