are the Japanese
phonetic syllabic characters, consisting of 2 forms:
hirigana is a cursive script used
to write native Japanese
words with no kanji equivalent; katakana
is used to
spell words borrowed from other languages. Kanji are
characters adopted from the Chinese language.
Used in Japan.
