Tiresias Screenfont
Licensing
There are four models under which the Tiresias
Screenfont (version 7.5.1 and later) can be licensed. Each of
these models is unlimited in term and, with the exception of business
model #2, does not require tracking the number of units shipped. In
all cases, there are no per-unit royalties.
The licensing models are as follows (all figures are in U.S. dollars):
- $1,000 for a perpetual
license in the UK for use of Tiresias with unrestricted application
relating to digital television only.
- $1,000 for a perpetual
worldwide license (including the UK) for use of Tiresias with
unrestricted application relating to digital television only,
where the total number of units shipped by the licensee is less
than 500.
- $5,000 for a perpetual
worldwide license (including the UK) for use of Tiresias with
unrestricted application relating to digital television only.
- $17,500 for a perpetual
worldwide license (including the UK) for use of Tiresias in any
or all of an organization's products (i.e., a company can integrate
Tiresias into as many products as it wants. It is not limited
to digital television only).
The Royal National Institute for the Blind receives
40% of the revenue generated from each license.
