If your application installs or uses any other font formats, then
you cannot use Bitstream Font Navigator to manage these other fonts.
- Open
Type Fonts
Font Navigator 2.x and 3.x cannot manage all types of OpenType
fonts. Some Open Type fonts (CFF format) do not appear in any
of the font list. Other Open Type fonts appear as regular TrueType
fonts with no extended character sets.
- Screen fonts
The font file extension is .FON. These fonts have an 'A" icon
in the Fonts folder. If an application shows icons for fonts,
these fonts may have a screen icon.
- Bitmap Printer Fonts
The font files usually have an extension of .SFP or .SFL, and
will be listed in your printer's Properties sheet on the Fonts
tab. They may have a printer icon on your application font list.
These fonts will not be listed in the Fonts folder.
- Printer Resident Fonts
Some applications list printer resident fonts in their font
list. If an application shows icons for fonts, these fonts usually
have a printer icon. These fonts will not be listed in the Fonts
folder.
- Marlett
Marlett is a Windows system TrueType font that provides the
icons for many Windows buttons. Never remove this font from
Windows. Windows does not allow Marlett to show up in any utility
that removes installed fonts. By Windows design, Marlett does
not show up in the Font Navigator lists. If your Windows Fonts
folder has all the original settings, Marlett does not appear
in the Fonts folder either.
