Font Groups in Font Navigator Problem
- My font groups do not stay installed.
-or-
- I get a message that Font Navigator
cannot install a font group because of a problem with one of the
fonts.
Solution
There may be a font in the group that cannot be installed. This
causes trouble for the whole group. There are several possible reasons
for this to happen.
The font may be missing from the Font catalog.
- In Font Navigator, double click on the group folder to open
it.
Fonts with a red 'x' on the icon are no longer in the Font Catalog.
These files may have been moved or deleted from outside of Font
Navigator.
- Right click the font file, and choose Properties.
The Properties dialog box lists the
location of the font file.
If the file is not where Font Navigator lists as its location:
- Use the Windows Find utility to find
the file. Choose Start > Find.
- Run Font Navigator's Find Fonts command
(on the File menu) for that location.
If the file is where Font Navigator lists as its location:
- Run Font Navigator's Find Fonts command
on that location.
The Font Navigator catalog may be corrupted.
- Font Navigator cannot follow the path
to the font file.
- Rebuild the Font Catalog.
The font file may be corrupt
- Use Windows Explorer to find the font file and double-click
it. If the font does not open in the Windows Font View (TrueType)
or the ATM Preview (PostScript), then the font file is bad.
- Get a new font file.
