Fonts Disappear from Font Navigator
When I uninstall
fonts with Font Navigator, they reappear on my font lists in applications.
Fonts have disappeared
from my Font Catalog.
After I use the Find
Fonts command, some of my fonts disappear from the Font Catalog.
Problem
When I uninstall fonts with Font Navigator, they reappear on my
font lists in applications.
Solution
The fonts that reappeared are in your Windows Fonts folder. Windows
automatically installs every font in the Fonts folder when you restart
Windows or open the Fonts folder in Windows Explorer. When it uninstalls
fonts, Font Navigator cannot remove font files from the Windows
fonts folder.
To use Font Navigator effectively, store all non-system and non-application
specific fonts outside of the Windows Fonts folder. This gives you
more control over your font management. You can use Font Navigator
to move your fonts out of the Fonts folder and create effective
groups of fonts.
Problem
Fonts have disappeared from my Font Catalog.
Solution
Try
rebuilding the Font Navigator Font Catalog.
Problem
After I use the Find Fonts command, some of my fonts disappear from
the Font Catalog.
Solution
If font listings are missing after running the Find Fonts command,
then Font Navigator could not find the font files on a permanent
disk, and it removed them from the Font Catalog.
If a removable media looks like a permanent disk to Windows, Font
Navigator treats it as a permanent disk. Font Navigator runs a check
process on the disk as part of the Find Fonts command. If the original
disk that contained the fonts is unavailable, then all the fonts
listed as being on that disk are removed from the Font Catalog.
This may happen with some autochange CD drives. If you are using
an autochange CD stack, then try to have the font CDs loaded whenever
you run the Find Fonts command.
