PostScript Printer Problems Problem
- Font Navigator does not recognize my PostScript printer port.
- Font Navigator does not install PostScript fonts to my PostScript
printer port.
- PostScript fonts installed by Font Navigator do not print or
download to PostScript printers.
Solution
Font Navigator cannot recognize a PostScript
printer port. We are working on this problem. Until we can fix it,
please try using the Windows Capture option to capture your PostScript
printer port to an unused LPT port.
To capture a printer port:
- First, use Font Navigator to remove all your PostScript fonts.
You do not need to remove the font files from the disk, just remove
the fonts from the list of installed fonts.
- Close Font Navigator.
- Choose Start > Settings
> Printers.
- Click the printer that uses the port Font Navigator cannot
see.
- Choose File > Properties.
- Click the Capture Settings tab.
- Click the Capture Printer Port button.
- In the Device box, choose an unused
LPT port (One that has no printer attached to it.)
- In the Path box, choose the printer
port that Font Navigator cannot see.
- Click OK to set the Capture Settings.
- In the Capture Settings dialog box,
turn off the printing of a banner and form feeds between pages
if they are selected.
- Click OK to accept the new settings.
- Select the printer again, and choose File
> Properties.
- Click the Details tab.
- Under Print to the following port choose the LPT
port that you just set up.
- Click OK to accept the change.
- Open Font Navigator.
- Choose File > Settings
> PostScript Printer Options.
- Click the check box to select the LPT port, if it is not already
selected.
- Click OK.
- Install your PostScript fonts again.
