Printing Problems in Font Navigator Problem
I can not print font samples from Font Navigator.
Solution
Font Navigator 3.0.1 fixes several printing problems. Contact
Bitstream Sales for version 3.0.1 upgrade information.
When the printing problems happen in Font Navigator in 3.0.1:
- If you are using a 3rd party print cache routine, like PrintCache,
QuickPrint, etc, either turn it off or use the standard Windows
printer driver for your printer.
For PostScript printers or HP Compatible laser printers:
- Clear the printer's memory by turning
it off and on again.
- Print fewer pages at a time by selecting
fewer fonts for samples.
- If you are printing over a network, you
must have 1 MB free disk space on the network server that holds
the print servers or queues.
For InkJet, BubbleJet or color printers, such as the Epson Stylus
series:
- Turn off the Windows 95 print spooling
mechanism by choosing "Print directly to the printer" in your
printer's Properties dialog box, Details tab, Print Spooling button.
- Set the printing resolution to a lower
resolution (For example, choose Normal instead of High).
- Most of the newer InkJet printer drivers
have a choice to print fast or to print better quality. If there
is such a choice, choose Quality over Speed.
