Support
Supported Operating Systems for Font Navigator
Font Navigator works with:
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT 4.0
Windows 2000 or Windows XP
"Dual Boot" systems
Problem
Does Font Navigator work with Windows 98?
When I install or uninstall a font in Bitstream Font Navigator under
Windows 98, my system crashes.
Solution
Bitstream Font Navigator has been successfully tested in Windows
98. If you install Windows 98 over an existing Windows 95 system
with Font Navigator already installed, your system may crash periodically
when you try to use Font Navigator to install or uninstall fonts.
Rebuild the Font Catalog before using Font Navigator in Windows
98.
Problem
Does Font Navigator work with Windows 2000 or Windows XP?
Solution
Bitstream Font Navigator 3.0.1 has been successfully tested with
Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Because these versions have more security
features than previous versions of Windows, you should follow these
recommendations:
Run the installation for Font Navigator while logged in with Administrator
rights.
Run the installation again for each additional login name.
If you install Windows 2000 or XP over an existing Windows version
with Font Navigator, rebuild the Font Catalog before using Font
Navigator under Windows 2000 or XP.
NOTE: Font Navigator 2.x and 3.x cannot manage the CFF format of
OpenType fonts.
Problem
Can I use Font Navigator on "dual boot" systems, where
I can boot between two different versions of Windows?
Solution
You can use Font Navigator on a "dual boot" system if
you install Font Navigator separately for each operating system
on the computer. During installation, install Font Navigator into
different folders for each version of Windows you have.
