Problems Using Fonts

• Fonts do not appear in the Font menu of my application
• Fonts do not appear in my document when I copy it to another computer

Solution
WordPerfect 6.x for DOS has a built-in font installer. Using the WordPerfect 6.x font installer, you can install PostScript, TrueType, Bitstream Speedo, and several other kinds of fonts.

1. From the WordPerfect document screen, press CTRL + F8 to view the Font menu.
2. Press SHIFT + F1 to view the Font Setup menu.
3. Press 9 to Install Fonts. The WordPerfect Font Installer starts.
4. Press 5 to select the Font Type (TrueType, Speedo, etc.)
5. Press 1 for Directories of Files. The Location of Files dialog box appears.
6. Follow the prompts at the bottom of the window to change the file locations to A: (or B:, or the drive and path containing the fonts you want to install). Press the ENTER key twice. The names of the fonts appear.
7. Follow the prompts at the bottom of the window to select the fonts for installation, and to install the selected fonts.
8. You may be prompted to Verify Location of Graphics Fonts Data Files. Press 2 to Copy Fonts to Graphics Fonts Data File Dir, then press ENTER to continue.
9. After the fonts are installed (this may take from several seconds to a few minutes, depending on the number of fonts you are installing), the message "Font Installation Completed" appears.
10. When you have installed all of the fonts you want, select Exit WPFI and press ENTER.
11. WordPerfect updates the fonts. When this is completed, press F7 to return to the Font menu.

Note: If you do not have the WordPerfect Font Installer, or you have any questions about using the WordPerfect Font Installer, refer to your WordPerfect 6.x documentation.

Solution
Refer to your application or operating system documentation. See if it supports Speedo fonts. Look for these words in the menus or help files, and in the documentation's table of contents and index.

1. Look in your font installer. Make sure the font you are trying to use is installed correctly.
2. If the font is installed:
   • Try closing and restarting the application.
   • Try restarting your computer.
3. Look in your application documentation for information about using fonts and using Bitstream Speedo fonts.
