Known Problems with Fonts for Windows
Problem
- Bank Gothic Light:
the figure 1 is not centered between other numbers.
- MICR and OCR fonts:
Fonts do not print at the correct size on a Hewlett Packard (HP)
LaserJet 4 or above, or compatible printers.
- Humanist Light Italic:
the italic is a slanted version of the roman font, not a true
italic.
- Dutch 801:
roman and bold look the same on screen.
- Venetian 301: the
roman font style from 500 Font CD looks italic.
- Problems with
Microsoft Image Explorer, Microsoft Publisher 2000, and Microsoft
WEFT
Solution
Bitstream fixed these problems with updates to the font. Check
the copyright date of the font you are using. If the latest copyright
date for the font is earlier than the ones listed below, you may have
an older version of the font. Contact
Bitstream Sales with your proof of purchase for upgrade information.

To check the copyright date:
- Choose Start > Settings
> Control Panel.
- Double-click the Fonts folder icon.
- Double-click a font name, such as Bank Gothic Light.
- In the font sample window, the version and copyright information
appears at the top.
Problem
- Microsoft Image Explorer: Bitstream
TrueType fonts do not appear in font lists.
- Microsoft Publisher 2000: Bitstream
TrueType fonts do not appear in font lists.
- Microsoft WEFT: Bitstream fonts are
invalid or need repair.
Solution
These problems occur with Bitstream fonts built before September
1999. Bitstream has rebuilt its entire library and fixed this problem
(along with adding the euro currency symbol.)
- If you purchased your font through Bitstream
or a Bitstream reseller, please contact
Bitstream Sales with your proof of purchase for font upgrade
information.
- If your Bitstream fonts came with your purchase
of a Corel product, please contact
Corel for upgrade information.
