Fonts Missing from Font Menus
Problem
In Windows, Bitstream fonts do not show up in the Font menu of my
application. Solution
- Check that you have installed the
fonts correctly.
- Next, try closing the application and restarting it. For some
applications, if you install a font while it is running, it does
not rebuild the font menu to show the fonts you have added.
- Try restarting the computer.
- Check a simple application, such as Character Map or Notepad
(usually found at Start > Programs
> Accessories). If the font works
with these application, but not in your application, consult the
User's Guide for your application. There may be special requirements
for font installation.
- If you are using Adobe Type Manager (ATM) Deluxe, check the
Font List tab to see if the fonts are
listed there. If the fonts do not appear on this list, follow
the ATM instructions for adding the fonts to this list.
- If you are using Adobe Type Manager, and if the fonts are not
appearing in an Adobe product (for example, Adobe Illustrator,
Adobe PhotoShop), search your computer for all copies of the file
named AdobeFnt.lst.
- Choose Start > Find
> Files or Folders to launch
the Find utility.
- Delete all copies of the file named AdobeFnt.lst.
Adobe applications recreate this file when you restart them.
