Bitstream to Debut Enhanced Pageflex Storefront Capabilities for Business-to-Consumer Market at On Demand Conference and Exhibition
New features enable the creation of consumer friendly websites that expand customers’ services into new markets

Boston, MA — April 17, 2007 — Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS, Booth #701, www.bitstream.com and www.pageflex.com), the leading provider of variable data and Web-to-print software for personalized marketing, announced today that it will be demonstrating the next generation of Pageflex Storefront at the On Demand Conference and Exhibition, being held this week in Boston, Massachusetts. This release of Pageflex Storefront includes several key features that enable customers to create, deploy and manage web sites for the lucrative consumer market.  With these new features, customers can expand their product offering and tap into the profitable consumer market with such products as photo books, stationery, and calendars.

A key feature of this new release lets users customize their store interface to a much greater level than before. Using these tools, users can change the appearance of all visible user interface elements of the end user site, including: colors, font size, and graphics of buttons, navigation, catalog, editing, and checkout controls. With these tools, users can tailor their sites to the markets they serve and the products they offer.

This release also includes anonymous browsing features that enable users to come into the site and create products without having to register.  Once the user reaches the checkout, they can register to make the purchase and complete the transaction.

Pageflex Storefront also gives users the ability to insert custom content - even dynamic content - in many areas of the site, including a site footer, login page, registration page, start page, and all catalog categories. This capability provides a place where customers can further promote their products. For example, a printer could insert a sidebar banner next to their product catalog which advertises other printing services that they offer. In addition, they could also insert product cross-sell information within the catalog itself, leading to more sales and additional revenue opportunities.

Anna Chagnon, President and CEO of Bitstream, Inc. states, “Our customers have a demonstrated history of utilizing the web to open up new lines of business, and Pageflex has supported that innovation with technology that builds robust web-to-print solutions.  This release of Pageflex Storefront continues that partnership of innovation by giving our customers the tools they need to expand their web stores into the lucrative consumer market and grow their business in new ways. “

This release of Pageflex Storefront will be available in the Summer 2007.
