Bitstream Announces First Mass-Market Offering of the ThunderHawk Mobile Browser at CTIA 2008

(NASDAQ: BITS) today announced the release of the third generation of ThunderHawk, which provides a truly full-featured, desktop-level browsing experience on mobile devices. ThunderHawk now runs on any device through a combination of Java and C++ editions. The company is demonstrating its mobile browsing technology at CTIA Wireless 2008 today through Thursday, at Bitstream booth #4519.

New features include:

Adaptive Scale for the desktop mini-map (in split screen zoom-out view), largely eliminating the need for left-to-right scrolling

More Efficient Transport Format for an additional 10% reduction in OTA data – the smallest data size of any mobile browser – significantly increasing speed

Two New Magnification Sizes: XL and 2XL

Validation of Certificates for https sites; if there are certificate problems the user is informed and given the option of whether to proceed

Rendering improvements coinciding with server side upgrades
